The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) released its rules requiring COVID-19 vaccinations for companies that employ 100 or more employees. The rules provide, in summary:
By January 4, 2022, companies must ensure that their workers are fully vaccinated or that they test negative for COVID-19 at least once a week.
Workers must be given paid time off to get the vaccine and recover from any side effects.
Employers do not have to pay for testing, and can require the employee to pay for it.
Unvaccinated people must wear masks in the workplace and when occupying a vehicle with another person for work purposes.
Employers who violate the rule can face fines up to $13,653 per violation and as much as ten times that for willful or repeated violations.
